Michael was born into the dairy business, growing up and working on his family's 1500-cow dairy in California. Desiring to further his education, Michael enrolled at Modesto Junior College in Modesto, CA, where attained an Associate’s of Science degree in dairy science. While attending MJC, Michael was a member of the college's national championship Dairy Judging Team. In the summer of 2000, Michael interned with Regusci Dairy Consulting of Pismo Beach, CA where he learned to balance and analyze dairy rations.

Michael transferred to Cornell University in January 2001 where he continued his education and experience pursuing a degree in animal science.  Michael entered an internship position at Cargill's West Coast office in Stockton, CA where he furthered his knowledge of dairy nutrition. Michael again took part in his school's Dairy Judging Team, which placed 1st at the national contest in October 2001.

Upon his graduation in May 2002 and receipt of his Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, he was extended an offer to join the management team of Aurora Dairy Corporation's Colorado location. He was named General Manager of that facility in February 2003. In September 2004, Michael was promoted to Assistant Operations Officer of Aurora Dairy assuming the responsibility of overseeing production and management on all Aurora-related farms. In October 2004, Michael retained the position of Assistant Operations Officer during the creation of Dairy Production Systems. On August 1, 2005, Michael was further promoted to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer assuming full operational management responsibility of five dairy farms in four states (Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Texas) milking 15,000 cows at capacity.

In February 2012, Michael took a position as Premier Account Manager with a United States Genetic Company. Focused on a consultative approach, targeted on the specific areas of labor management, employee training, work organization (SOP’s & Protocols) reproductive programs, genetic analysis, records analysis, calf health, cow and heifer nutrition, parlor management and milk quality. He was responsible for a territory that covered the entire United States with accounts in 21 different states, working with the most progressive dairies ranging in size from 3,000 to 70,000 cows. He grew his portfolio from 30 to 47 dairy accounts while increasing sales revenue by 120% in 3 years of employment.

One of Michael’s clients, Sun View Dairy, extended an opportunity for Michael to take a position on staff as the dairy’s General Manager in November 2015. The business is comprised of 3,000 acres of farm ground for growing forages (corn silage, alfalfa haylage, triticale silage) for cattle feed. The company operates two dairy facilities located in Mountain Home, Idaho with a capacity of 10,000 milking cows and Mud Lake, Idaho milking 1,500 cows.

In April of 2017, Michael was sought out to fill the role of Global Strategic Account Manager for IVB, a division within ABS Global. IVB focuses on delivering IVF embryo solutions to commercial dairy farms across the world.

His passion for helping dairy owners make their businesses more profitable, and his love for the dairy profession prompted him to create his international consulting business, Farmdamentals, in 2014. Farmdamentals is a consulting company focused on improving results on dairy farms thru intense focus on people, protocols and procedures. Farmdamentalsis a collection of some of the most successful business minds in the dairy industry with extensive large herd management skills. They are focused on the fundamentals of creating a thriving, profitable dairy farm.

Michael and his wife Carrie reside in Boise, Idaho with their five children.
